Our Cats

There are three of us that duke it out with the dogs for territory at our house.  The folks help us out.  They have put baby gates at the bedroom  doors, raised just high enough that we can get under quickly, leaving the canine bozos drooling and slobbering in the hallway.   It is such fun to sit just out of reach on the other side of the gate and taunt the enemy.  Pete never quite gets it and is foolish enough to wedge her nose under the gate--Peanut, rules, he smacks Pete's nose making it look like it has been through a meat grinder.  Silly dog comes back for more every chance she gets.

Goober, our guardian of the garage, and cat with an ATTITUDE, joined our family in October of 1994 as a tiny kitten.  A prettier kitten you have never seen.  As a youngster, he roamed the neighborhood steeling presents for Mom and Dad, bringing home such things as a working watch, a bathing suit top, sidewalk chalk, troll doll, sweat band, various strings and of course, a few very dead critters.  He chooses to not spend much time in the house but he considers the garage and Mom's car his.  He sleeps in a kitty nest on the work bench under a light bulb for warmth.

Peanut, our beautiful Seal Point, was found by the dogs in 2001.  He was near death on that hot July morning.  Pop reached through barbed wire to grab him by the tail.  The little guy was so panic by the dogs that he bit through Pop's finger nail and fell into unconsciousness.  We revived the tiny, sick kitten and rushed him to the vet.  With TLC he survived his ordeal and grew into a sweet, loving boy.

Mocha, more often called Mini, came to us just a month after rescuing Peanut.  We went to the pet store to get kitty litter and came home with a playmate for Peanut.  The two were in love from the first glance.  They are seldom apart even as adults.  Mini too grew into a blue eyed beauty.  She is a Torti Point Siamese.  The only female kitty, she rules the roost and keeps the boys in line.
